The open division was dominated by the defending champion and top seed, Aleksey Grebnev, who took the lead in Round 3 and never looked back. He went into the final round a full point ahead of Mongolia’s IM Munkhdalai Amilal, drew his game with Aswath S, and won the title with an exceptional score of 7.5/9. The winner became the event’s sole undefeated contestant.

The winner had an even more dominant performance in the girls’ segment. Anna Shukhman got out to a tremendous start, winning five straight games, and after losing to Tejaswini G in Round 6, she ended strong with three more victories to win the title.
Both Indian players Halder Sneha and Tejaswini G matched for second place with scores of 7/9, with the former winning silver owing to a better Buchholz.
