Rules and Regulations for World Youth Chess Championships 2024
The tournament format
The tournament will be played according to the Swiss System in 11 rounds.
Time control
The time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from the 1st move.
Tie-breaks
If two or more players are tied, the following tiebreaks will be used:
a) Results of direct encounters between the tied players (applies only if all tied players have played each other.)
b) Buchholz Cut 1
c) Buchholz
d) The greater number of games played with black
e) The Greater number of wins
FIDE Titles and Norms
FIDE Titles and Norms shall be awarded according to the FIDE Title Regulations and FIDE Table for Direct Titles in the FIDE Handbook.
Over the board title norms
FIDE over the board title norms are also possible for the other players based on their performance and their opponent’s titles/ratings as per FIDE Handbook requirements.

3rd place – 1,000 Euros, Bronze Medal & Trophy
4th to 10th place – Trophies

2nd place – 1,250 Euros, Silver Medal & Trophy
3rd place – 750 Euros, Bronze Medal & Trophy
4th to 10th place – Trophies
