I have watched several chess movies, but one that I consider the best is Queen’s Gambit. I really love it. It was well-acted and Beth Harmon just killed it. Plus the chess scenes are very practical and easy to relate to. The final game was awesome, very well planned and executed. Searching for Bobby Fischer was another nice one.
You are right, i think Queen’s Gambit was a game change in the making of chess movies. It is just on another level of greatness. I have also watched Queen of Katwe, by Lupita and i guess it is also an awesome movie with an African setting. Another good one is Queen to Play, this is a 2009 classic, it was also a good one.
